• Sky Wave Propagation (2 to 30 MHz)

In Sky wave propogation the signal from an earth based antenna is reflected back down to earth from the ionized layer of the upper atmosphere (ionosphere) situated between 50 Km to 400 Km above the earth surface.

A sky wave signal can travel through a number of hops, bouncing back and forth between the ionosphere and the earth's surface.

This mode of propagation is also called as "Short Wave Propagation".
